The foundation pursues direct and indirect promotion of the common good in the broadest sense. Charitable endeavors encompass welfare in the broadest sense, such as the provision of contributions for maintenance, upbringing and training of young people who are dependent on material support because of their financial situation, support for needy, old and sick people, promotion and support socially, educationally or culturally active needy people, in particular freelance artists; Animal welfare includes promoting the welfare and protection of animals in Switzerland; Human rights include promoting endeavors that protect human rights; Social-humanitarian issues include the fight against poverty and hunger; Supply of drinking water, food and shelter; medical supplies; Culture encompasses the promotion and support of culture, art, literature, music, humanities, film and monument preservation; Science includes promoting and supporting activities in the fields of science, research and health care; Ecology encompasses the promotion and support of institutions, people and projects that are committed to sustainable development while taking environmental protection into account; Education includes promoting and supporting training and school projects; Providing elementary training to young people as well as further training and introduction to responsible behavior from a global perspective; Medicine encompasses public health promotion and medical research and development. In addition to natural persons, tax-exempt legal persons, private and public-law institutions, corporations and agencies can also be funded in these areas. The foundation can work in Switzerland and, with the exception of animal welfare, abroad. It pursues neither gainful nor self-help purposes.
