The non-profit foundation aims to promote all concerns of animals and animal welfare. It helps animals in distress and protects them from agony, poor animal husbandry and abuse. The foundation operates its own animal shelter or supports equivalent institutions. The foundation can continue to achieve its purpose as follows: by supporting and promoting the animal protection association in Basel; by sensitizing the public, especially the youth, to issues of animal welfare; through public relations work in the field of the foundation's purpose; through cooperation with the cantonal and communal authorities responsible for animal welfare; through lobbying in the field of the foundation's purpose and / or other safeguarding of the interests of animals and animal owners in any proceedings; by honoring people and organizations who have made particular contributions to the foundation's purpose. In order to achieve its purpose, the foundation can acquire and sell real estate and investments and work with domestic and foreign organizations. The foundation pursues its purpose throughout Switzerland, namely in north-western Switzerland, as well as abroad. The foundation is non-profit and accordingly does not pursue any gainful or self-help purposes. It is politically and religiously neutral.
