MAX KOHLER STIFTUNG
Purpose
The foundation pursues its purpose in two spheres of activity: The first sphere of activity comprises: the promotion, support and recognition of creative, research and supervisory activities in the field of art and culture. Within this sphere of activity, for example, the visual arts, literature, music and theater, film, etc. come into question. The above list is not exhaustive; it is exemplary. As part of this foundation's purpose, both individuals and donations can be made to institutions that are active in the relevant charitable areas. The Board of Trustees is free to allocate the funds. There is no obligation to pursue all of the goals mentioned or to support the goals pursued equally. The second sphere of activity includes: promoting young people in Switzerland in a comprehensive sense, for example by promoting education and training, promoting moral, spiritual and cultural aspects, promoting health, promoting education for self-responsibility, promoting understanding of the context between science, technology and nature, etc. The above list is not exhaustive; it is exemplary. As part of this foundation's purpose, both individuals and donations can be made to institutions that are active in the relevant charitable areas. The Board of Trustees is free to allocate the funds. There is no obligation to pursue all of the goals mentioned or to support the goals pursued equally. Realization of the purpose in both spheres of activity: In order to achieve its purpose, the foundation can award grants for studying at domestic and foreign universities and research institutions and for study trips in Germany and abroad, award habilitation grants, finance existing projects worthy of support, and provide the impetus by providing funds Giving projects, encouraging performance by tendering prizes or rewarding performance with prizes, etc. The foundation can work with other organizations or institutions with comparable objectives. The Board of Trustees has to use the funds primarily for specific projects, but secondly also for the promotion of science and research and only in exceptional cases for political purposes, such as supporting voting proposals within the framework of the foundation's purpose. Art. 3 of the deed of foundation can be specified in more detail in regulations.

Präzisierung des Stiftungszwecks
Die Max Kohler Stiftung sieht in ihren Grundwerten die Künste als transformative Kraft, welche die Entwicklung von Menschen positiv beeinflusst und sozialen Wandel ermöglicht. Wir sind tätig in den Bereichen Jugend und Kultur. Dabei investieren wir unsere Fördermittel überwiegend in die Schnittstelle von Jugend & Kultur. Wir fördern Projekte über vier Programme:
Art for Art
Herausragende Ausstellungen, Vorstellungen und Forschungsarbeiten in den Bereichen Bildende Kunst, Musik, Oper und Tanz. (In diesem Bereich fördert die Stiftung proaktiv und nimmt keine Gesuche entgegen.)
Art for Knowledge
Kulturelle Bildung von Kindern und Jugendlichen
Art for Change
Vorhaben, die kreative Betätigung als Mittel nutzen, um Kindern und Jugendlichen helfen, die Herausforderungen des Lebens zu meistern und um die therapeutische Arbeit zu unterstützen.
Art of Empowerment
Vorhaben im Bereich des Kinderschutzes sowie im Bereich Integration, welche die persönliche und schulische Entwicklung von Kindern und Jugendlichen mit besonderen Bedürfnissen in der Schweiz stärken.

Hinweis zum Förderbudget:
Das jährliche Förderbudget der Max Kohler Stiftung für externe Projekte beträgt etwa 1 Mio CHF. Davon werden ca. 500’000 CHF für Vorhaben in der Schnittstelle von Jugend & Kultur vergeben. Weitere 500’000 CHF verteilen sich auf entweder reine Kultur- ODER reine Jugendprojekte.
