With a "learning workshop" in a former pfrund barn in Wengi near Büren (Canton Bern), the Barbara and Roberto Conza Foundation wants to create an ideal environment for accompanied study projects by young people. For this reason, the foundation is currently looking for funds in the amount of CHF 1,750,000.–. We also strive for diverse partnerships with existing educational organizations and interested organizations with similar objectives. Donations, financial aid and other grants for the project should be available by the end of November 2021. It is thus possible to implement the infrastructure by summer 2023 and to open the learning workshop. We would be happy to present the project, including the financing concept, in more detail below.
The target group of the “learning workshop” are students from the fields of art and science between the ages of 16 and 30 - both from Switzerland and from abroad. With a regular summer workshop, which is supported by the Barbara and Roberto Conza Foundation in cooperation with initiative and knowledge partners, a value contribution with international reach is to be created for the promotion of young talent. The projects are selected on the basis of an annual competition. The scholarship holders can qualify on the basis of the performance as well as the value of their project. This enables them to have a productive learning experience under the guidance of experts from the foundation's network. The experts support the scholarship holders in determining clear coordinates for their further professional development steps and in achieving the project goal. Another goal is the local social impact of the projects. For this reason, the scholarship holders are housed in host families and present their project results at public events. This makes the projects comprehensible for the interested public. The Barbara and Roberto Conza Foundation itself assumes 40 to 60 percent of the running costs of the “learning workshop” in the long term. The project is supported by a diverse patronage committee from science, art and culture.
THE BARBARA AND ROBERTO CONZA FOUNDATION
The Barbara and Roberto Conza Foundation has been committed to promoting learning for children, adolescents and young students since it was founded in 2015. The foundation supports better learning at several points in the value chain. On the one hand, it is a donation foundation for learning projects of individuals and organizations and, on the other hand, it is operationally active by initiating its own projects. Operationally, the foundation is currently concentrating on the lead project “learning workshop”. The foundation is recognized as a non-profit organization and is tax-exempt.
