Kulturförderung Kanton St. Gallen
The cantonal cultural promotion supports cultural diversity and strengthens the profile of the cultural canton of St.Gallen. On the one hand, it supports artists, individual cultural projects and institutions with contributions; on the other hand, it sets priorities out of this diversity by promoting cultural buildings. Cultural infrastructure: The current cultural infrastructure projects - from the St.Gallen Lokremise to Werdenberg Castle and the planned Toggenburg Sound House - provide impetus and promise exceptional cultural experiences. These focal points also include the St.Gallen Concert and Theater Cooperative, the cultural institution with the longest tradition in the canton. Cultural contributions: In addition to these focal points, around 80 larger and 60 smaller cultural institutions and organizations in the canton of St.Gallen are supported. The small theaters, museums, art halls and initiatives significantly shape the cultural diversity of the canton of St.Gallen. In order to support individual cultural projects and artists directly, cultural and lottery fund contributions as well as work grants and studio stays can be awarded. Services: Support for the visual arts through the cantonal art collection and exhibition projects as well as advisory services for museums round off the cantonal cultural funding. The cantonal cultural promotion focuses its support on cultural initiatives with at least regional impact and is always active in addition to private individuals and communities.
