Basics Schweizer Tafel gets things moving: more than 24 tons of food and non-food items every day — from generous donors to people affected by poverty. Schweizer Tafel collects the goods where they are in surplus and takes them to where they are needed. Namely from 530 branches of the Swiss major distributors to 500 social institutions such as homeless shelters, soup kitchens, emergency shelters and distribution points. For more than 20 years, the Schweizer Tafel has been building the bridge between excess and shortage.

That's what Schweizer Tafel does every day

The head office of the Schweizer Tafel Foundation is in Kerzers in the canton of Fribourg. The office serves as a link to the six regional locations (Mittelland, Northwestern Switzerland, Eastern Switzerland, Romandy, Central Switzerland, Zurich) and is also in lively contact with donors, partners and foundations.

All six regional locations have their own infrastructure with office and storage space as well as refrigerated vehicles. They are managed by a regional manager. They are supported by volunteers, people from unemployment programs, people on social security and people doing community service.

• The Schweizer Tafel is committed to the re-integration of people into the first job market. We give a meaningful job as a driver or office worker and offer a stepping stone to regain a foothold in the first job market.
