The foundation finances and promotes climate protection and renewable energy resource projects and measures in Switzerland and abroad in cooperation with suitable partners from science, politics, society and business. It pursues its purpose in particular by promoting the processes for converting biomass, such as carbonation and fermentation. Promotion of renewable energy sources and their technical processes, which drive the implementation of climate protection measures. Nutrient recycling, sustainable energy generation, development of usage concepts for biochar and biological soil activation are developed and promoted from by-products of biomass processes. In addition, ecologically sustainable and profitable projects in agriculture, such as the resource-saving production of food, are to be promoted and financed. Research on climate neutrality, biodiversity, resource conservation and the circular economy are funded through basic research and the development of sustainable concepts. A high value chain and circular economy are strived for within a region. The foundation communicates the knowledge gained through teaching, advice and publications both in professional circles and in public. To fulfill its purpose, the foundation can cooperate with suitable institutions and organizations, support them or take action itself. The foundation is not profit-oriented, but of a non-profit nature and it pursues neither gainful nor self-help purposes. It is politically and religiously neutral.
