klangundszene
Purpose
klangundszene - co-founded in Zurich by the musician Rachel Eisenhut and the architect Eugen Eisenhut - has been performing works of chamber and piano music as well as the art of song since 2010 and combines them with other arts or sciences. The musical focus has so far been on the first half of the 20th century.
klangundszene develops and implements concepts for music theater projects with transdisciplinary curiosity, consistent perseverance and attention to detail. The selected non-theatrical works are examined for their dramatic potential and their subtext and integrated into an associatively developed «story». Biographical backgrounds of the composers, artistic points of view, social, political, philosophical and (natural) scientific aspects are combined with the music to create a new, independent and collage-like form of music theatre. Hidden behind this are the "old questions" such as the question of freedom in love, art and life or the question of the relationship between man and nature. In cooperation with representatives of various arts and sciences - from dance, scenography and architecture to media, video and fine arts to natural sciences and humanities - five interdisciplinary productions have been created in this way so far, which have been performed in Zurich and Winterthur.
Since 2020, klangundszene has been developing a new, independent format with musical-literary collages.
