Slums, hunger, misery, people without school education,

massive discrimination against minorities – where do we expect that?

In Africa, in South America, in Asia? But not in Europe, almost on our doorstep!

On our first trip to Romania in 2003 we did not expect to find such conditions:

Families who didn't know what to eat the next day, who lived on rubbish dumps, whose children didn't go to school;

Settlements with huts made of rubbish without running water or electricity, and a lack of medical care.

What can be done when a state in the European Union is unable to ensure a decent existence?

Can anything be done?

Yes you can!
