Purpose
The purpose of the foundation is to help children and young people, in particular to assume uncovered costs for medical and therapeutic measures and aids, nursing, operation, therapy, integration and training costs; Contributions to ensure the basic needs of children in need; Contributions to uncovered costs of training and further education and retraining of young people (up to the age of 28) after compulsory school leaving qualifications and outside of in-house training by employers. Contributions to institutions that offer employment and/or places in homes to children and young people from a socially disadvantaged background or with cognitive problems. Support for projects by clinics to improve/extend the treatment of children (e.g. expansion of the children’s hospital in Zurich). Other humanitarian aid Contributions to living costs to people in need and to institutions that work accordingly, in particular contributions to unfunded medical, therapeutic and/or integrative measures that improve the quality of life, housing and homelessness assistance. In addition, contributions can be made to artists, especially in the performing and fine arts, music and literature, who lose their employment or contracts or their studies at least temporarily as a result of extraordinary events (economic development, epidemics and the like) in order to bridge loss of earnings. Promotion of musical education for gifted children and young people. In addition to individual support, the foundation can also support orchestras and other youth formations that serve to promote music. Scholarships for students at music colleges can only be granted if there is a deepened, lasting connection to Switzerland and not just the studies being completed in Switzerland. Support for museums, exhibitions and cultural projects that have a cultural or historical connection to Switzerland or a region in Switzerland. Individuals in the visual and performing arts, literature, music and history with a connection to Switzerland can also be supported. Promotion of the most authentic possible restoration of historic paddle steamers on lakes in Switzerland, historic railways on historic routes in Switzerland can also be supported. Support for the preservation of livelihoods, infrastructure and landscapes in mountain areas, based on the purposes of the foundations Patenschaft für Berggemeinden and Schweizer Berghilfe. The contributions of the foundation may not replace services provided by the community (such as social assistance, supplementary benefits, IV benefits, public grants and subsidies), but must have a supplementary effect. The foundation acts in favor of beneficiaries with a deep connection to Switzerland (Swiss nationality or place of residence in Switzerland or professional ties in Switzerland), in the public interest and altruistically. It does not pursue any profit-making or self-help purposes; all its services to affected persons and to institutions, corporations and project sponsors are exclusively non-profit. Subject to special regulations (which must be submitted to the supervisory authority), the Board of Trustees decides at its best discretion on the award of foundation benefits within the framework of the foundation purpose. The decisions of the Board of Trustees do not have to be justified to applicants.
